Working within our Finance division initially starting in Taunton Somerset, you'll be part of the team who manage all of our finance shared services and financial accounting. Here we control the company's management accounting, external financial accounting, taxation, accounts payable and other financial processes of the overall organisation. You'll be dealing with a wide range of contacts, including suppliers, concessions and internal customers ensuring all financial matters are settled quickly and efficiently.

With great qualifications and lots of ambition, you can go straight into a role within a dynamic Finance team. You will be a Trainee Finance Analyst with real responsibilities in one of the teams. This gives you the chance to influence and add value to Debenhams' commercial decision-making processes from day one, undertake accounting activities as well as developing your personal skills. As you are exposed to each of the different areas within the division, you'll develop and gain confidence and our combination of hands-on training and support to pursue professional qualifications will provide you with an excellent foundation for launching your career.  Following a successful placement you will have the opportunity to work within our London Support Centre as part of the business partnering finance teams, therefore experiencing all areas of Finance.

Candidate Requirements:

We're looking for ambitious, hardworking individuals with a lively sense of humour to fit into our team. The ability to communicate effectively is a pre-requisite, as you'll be dealing with a variety of people at different levels across the business. You also need to have a questioning approach and the confidence to challenge established ways of working. Highly numerate and analytical, you should have strong Excel skills and be comfortable with other IT systems, including Access and PowerPoint.

We look for people with a good understanding of business environments and a sound level of commercial awareness. You are currently studying at degree level in either Accounting & Finance, Business, Economics or a related subject, and must be predicted a minimum 2:2. In addition, you need a suitable A Level or equivalent qualification in a numerate subject.

Part of this process will include an online numeracy based test.  Successful candidates will be interviewed on 11th July 2017.  Start dates will be August 2017.
